Boxerfit ClassCarl Cleasby

The Class layout is Circuit form with boxing moves and boxing bags, available to all levels.  

Boxing training or boxerfit is becoming recognized as a great way to increase fitness and control weight. Many boxing workouts use a combination of various exercises from skipping, shadow boxing to circuit training, all of which work together to burn tons of calories.

The combination of all these different exercises helps keep the heart rate elevated over the whole workout developing strength and endurance for the heart and circulatory system.

Carl is a level 3 personal trainer with professional boxing experience.

 

Class time: Thursday 6.15pm - 7.15pm

Junior Gym ClubAlastair McKenzie

This class is a well structured 60 minute fitness routine, focusing on cardiovascular fitness and core strength. Exercises used in the class range from floor work, cardiovascular machines to body weight exercises.

The class offers a friendly atmosphere and good socializing with like minded juniors. All fitness levels welcome for juniors aged 11-16

Alastair McKenzie is qualified to level 3 Personal training which includes group outdoor environment fitness and he is a Primal Flow and Functional Movement Specialist

 Class Time: Saturday 12pm-1pm

Yoga Class

Whether you are new to yoga or not, you will be amazed by its benefits.  Yoga, meaning union between body and mind is a very important part of everyone's life.

The asanas (postures) are put into practice to help you build body strength, suppleness and when phrases of postures, are linked together then this can increase the cardiovascular.  .  Yoga is ideal for this which NO doubt, will cut down any sport injuries. 

On an emotional level, yoga postures and relaxation allows the body and mind to become one.  You become more body aware each week on how you hold your body tensely and over a period of time, you will notice that you have become calmer, more relaxed and able to cope with the pressures of modern living.  So come along on Saturday to the club 10-11am and then a few of us go off upstairs for breakfast 

Class Time: Saturday 10am-11am and Tuesday at 7.30pm (please note the Tuesday class is chargeable for all members at £4 per class)

Miranda WellsPilates Class

Pilates is an invigorating form of exercise for your mind and body that can improve your strength, flexibility and overall mobility. It helps restore your body to balance. As a result, your posture will change and you will move more efficiently.

You'll achieve a strong core, develop longer, leaner muscles and improve your overall sense of well-being. And, if you are a sports enthusiast, Pilates can help improve your game.

Kettlebell ClassHarry Savva

This is the use of cannonball shaped weights with handles attached. They are used in a swinging motion to improve posture, assist with weight loss, body conditioning, muscular strength, flexibility, sports performance & cardiovascular fitness.

ZumbaAnna

This a popular up tempo dance based fitness class open to all abilities, shapes and sizes.

Come along to this Latin inspired fitness dance class taken by our popular Pilates teacher, Anna Ferguson for an exhilarating, effective, easy to follow, calorie burning time.

Class time: Tuesday 6.30-7.15pm

Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Class

This is a fun and friendly exercise class based on pad work and bodyweight training. Increase your muscular strength and endurance as well as your co-ordination and learn some basic self defence.

Open to men and women of any age and fitness level.

Class: Monday 6.15-7.15pm

Functional Movement Class

This class is taken by Carl Cleasby (photo above) and takes place on Tuesday at 10am.

This is conditioning and functional circuit training, working muscular flexibility and the aerobic system, working with kettlebells, TRX, Viper and functional movements.  An action packed 45 minutes class.
