Racketball at Chapel-A Chapel A is one of the leading racketball clubs in the country, catering for all ages and levels of play. Racketball is the fastest growing racket sport in the country and is a great introduction for anyone wishing to take up a racket sport. It also provides a fantastic work out.
With over 600 squash and racketball members and new and improved facilities, the Club offers fantastic opportunities for social play, coaching, internal leagues and competitions and team play. The racketball section is growing annually and this can provide anything from social to team play for those that wish to participate. Professional coaching for racketball is available for, either privately or in classes; - full details are available from the Head Coach.
The club is also home to the annual North East racketball championships, the largest and most successful regional racketball tournament in the country. Daytime Racketball Club Play starts Thursday 23rd February with Head Coach, Peter Edwards. The session will run from 10.30-12noon and costs £4 per player. No need to book, just pay at reception. Competitive Racketball This season's first major competition was the Racketball Handicap Championships which was well supported by over 60 competitors. Joe Cybaniak defeating Paula Arrowsmith 3 -1 in the main final and in the plate Sue Cole won 3 - 0 in beating Phil Hopps.  Last season's racketball championships culminated with finals on the last weekend of May. Dominic Hamilton was crowned Men's Champion and Paula Arrowsmith Women's Champion.
